PixLoom Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Jingxiang Technology Co., Ltd
("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the PixLoom Android
application (package name: com.pixloom.editor; the "App").
PixLoom is primarily an on-device image and document editing tool. You do not need to create an account to use the current version of the App. We do not sell personal information, the App does not display third-party advertisements, and we do not use your content for advertising, profiling, or training artificial-intelligence models.
1. Information the App accesses or processes
Content you choose to use
Depending on the feature you select, the App may access and process photos, images, animations, PDFs, other documents, QR/barcode content, screenshots, and associated metadata such as EXIF information. EXIF information may include capture time, camera details, and precise location if such information is present in the file and you grant the required media-location access.
This content is normally processed locally on your device for editing, conversion, compression, scanning, text recognition, background removal, metadata editing, encryption/decryption, sharing, or saving. We do not operate a server that receives your selected photos, documents, scans, screenshots, or recognized text as part of these ordinary editing functions.
Camera and screen capture
With your permission, the App may use the camera for QR/barcode scanning and document scanning. If you start the screenshot feature, Android displays its media projection confirmation before the App can capture the screen. Captured or scanned content is provided to the App only for the feature you initiated and is processed on-device, except for the limited technical data described under "Google services" below.
Files, media, and local settings
The App may request access to selected media or, on supported versions and where enabled, broader file access so that you can browse, open, edit, save, and manage compatible files. The App stores settings and preferences locally, and may store cached files, downloaded OCR language models or other feature resources, editing presets, and output files. Android may back up some App settings to your Google account when device backup is enabled; that backup is controlled by Android and your Google account settings.
All files access
On supported Android versions, the App may offer the optional Android "All files access" special permission. If you grant it, the App can locate, open, edit, save, rename, and manage compatible images, documents, archives, and folders outside its app-specific storage as part of the file and document tools you choose to use. The App does not use this permission to scan files for advertising, build a profile about you, or upload your files to our servers. You can revoke this access at any time in Android Settings and continue using features that work with Android's system pickers.
Web addresses and network requests
If you use "load image from the web" or a similar feature, the web address you enter is sent directly to the requested website and its resource hosts. Those operators will receive ordinary network information such as your IP address, request time, user agent, and requested URL, and will handle it under their own privacy policies. The App supports both HTTPS and user-entered HTTP addresses; HTTP traffic is not encrypted, so you should use HTTPS whenever possible. The App may also connect to resource hosts to download OCR models or other resources you request.
Information you send to us
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the message, attachments, and other information you choose to provide. We use it to respond, provide support, investigate issues, and protect our legal rights.
2. Google services and diagnostic data
The Google Play version may use Google ML Kit and Google Play services for features such as on-device subject/selfie segmentation, document scanning, code scanning, and delivery of models or feature resources. Image, document, video, and text inputs processed by ML Kit remain on-device. However, ML Kit may collect and send to Google technical data such as device and app information, per-installation or device identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, input/output sizes, feature versions, event types, and error codes for diagnostics, usage analytics, model delivery, maintenance, and service improvement.
Where Google Firebase support is enabled in a distributed build, analytics and crash reporting are disabled by default and can be controlled in the App's settings. If enabled, Google Analytics for Firebase may process an app-instance identifier, masked IP-derived approximate location, app lifecycle and session information, screen/feature interaction events, and device/app information. Firebase Crashlytics may process crash stack traces, relevant application state, device metadata, performance/session information, and installation identifiers. We use this data to understand feature usage, diagnose crashes, maintain security, and improve stability. We do not use these services for advertising or ad personalization.
Google handles this information under its applicable terms and privacy documentation, including the Google Privacy Policy, Firebase privacy information, and ML Kit Terms & Privacy.
3. Android permissions
| Permission or access | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Camera | Scan QR/barcodes or documents when you choose those features. |
| Photos, media, files, and media location | Browse, import, edit, read metadata from, and save compatible content. |
| All files access (optional special access) | Locate, open, edit, save, rename, and manage compatible files and folders when you choose file-management or document-management features. |
| Screen capture / media projection and foreground service | Capture a screenshot only after you start the feature and approve Android's system prompt. |
| Internet and network state | Load user-requested web content, download models/resources, use supported Google services, and, when enabled, send analytics or crash diagnostics. |
You can deny or revoke permissions in Android Settings, although the related features may stop working.
4. How we use information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the editing, scanning, conversion, OCR, saving, sharing, and other features you request;
- remember your settings and restore supported preferences;
- download feature resources and provide compatibility with Android and Google Play services;
- measure optional feature usage, diagnose errors, secure the App, and improve performance; and
- respond to support requests and comply with applicable law.
5. When information is disclosed
We may disclose limited information:
- to Google as a service provider for ML Kit, Google Play services, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics, as described above;
- to websites and resource hosts you direct the App to contact;
- to the Android services and sharing destinations you expressly select;
- when required by law, legal process, or to protect users, the public, our rights, or the security of the App; or
- as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to legally required notice and safeguards.
We do not sell your personal or sensitive information.
6. Retention and deletion
Local settings, downloaded resources, and cached or working files remain on your device until removed by the App, overwritten, cleared through Android Settings, or deleted when you uninstall the App. Files you intentionally export to shared storage may remain after uninstalling and must be deleted using the App, a gallery, or a file manager. Device backups may remain according to your Google backup settings and Google's retention rules.
Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Diagnostic and analytics data is retained according to our configured service settings and the provider's applicable retention rules, and only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above. You may disable future optional analytics and crash reporting in the App's settings. You may also contact us to request deletion of information that we can reasonably identify and control. The App has no user accounts, so there is no app account to delete.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. Google service traffic and resource downloads under our control use encrypted transport where supported. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. In particular, a website you choose to access through an HTTP address may transmit data without encryption.
8. International processing
Google and other providers may process technical information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.
9. Children
The App is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, or to withdraw consent. You may manage App permissions and local data through Android Settings, disable optional diagnostics in the App, delete exported files yourself, and submit a request using the contact information below. We may need enough information to verify and fulfill your request, and legal exceptions may apply.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our data practices, or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required. Your continued use after an update is governed by the updated policy to the extent permitted by law.
